Some large speckled trout caught earlier in the fall have won citations from the Virginia Saltwater Fishing Tournament for local anglers. These names were reported in the Nov. 5 vasaltwaterjournal.com.

Jason K. Powell of Cobbs Creek, received a citation for a 5-pound, 6-ounce fish, caught Oct. 26 in Piankatank River;

Eldridge Inge Jr. of Moon, received a citation for a 5-pound, 13-ounce trout, caught Oct. 23 in Mobjack Bay;

James L. Hurst of Cobbs Creek, received a citation for a 5-pound, 3-ounce trout, caught Sept. 24 in the Piankatank River; and,

Herbert Haywood of Dutton, received a citation for a 6-pound trout, caught Sept. 24 in Piankatank River.

Among leading entries of all citation species, 10 months into the year, are a 13-pound, 3-ounce spadefish, caught by Kyle Spruill of Gloucester at Chesapeake Light Tower, and a 10-pound, 10-ounce speckled trout, caught by Ryan Conway of Lancaster in the lower York River.
