The Mathews Market Days Committee and the Court House Players held the Little Miss Mathews pageant on Sunday afternoon in the Harry M. Ward Auditorium at Mathews High School. Twenty-four young ladies, ages 3-18, competed, with the winners divided into three age groups Little Miss (ages 3-6), Junior Miss (ages 7-12) and Miss Mathews (ages 13-18). “Thank you to every single one of these young ladies who showed up and performed their little hearts out,” said Market Days chair Jennifer Roahrig. “We’re just so thrilled that these girls were so supportive of each other. They were having fun and cheering each other on and they are all winners for that.” Winners were, from left, Little Miss Scarlett Roahrig, Miss Mathews Hannah McBurney and Junior Miss Ada Barnes. They will be at the Mathews Market Days poster reveal at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 23, at the Bay School Community Arts Center on Main Street. And, of course, they’ll be at Mathews Market Days on Sept. 5 and 6.
