Little England Mercantile opens at refurbished Tidemill Shops

Little England Mercantile is the new anchor store at the newly-refurbished Tidemill Shops on Route 17, Gloucester Point.

The 3,500-square-foot store opened for business Nov. 7 in the space that housed A&S Feed and Supplies for many years.

Store manager Karen Barrs owns the business with her husband Stephen.

Stephen Barrs of C.A. Barrs Construction and Steve Spain of Spain Commercial, Inc., are working together with their crews to renovate the center, which was known as Tidemill Center for well over 30 years. The Barrs and Spain and his wife Grace bought the center from a real estate trust, Karen said.

While Little England Mercantile is opened for business, she said, renovations are still underway on the façade and roofing of the entire center. In addition, interior space for six vacant shops will be upgraded over the next few months.

Other tenants in the center include a beauty shop, flooring business, cleaners, custom fishing rod shop, and pool supply store.
