Lindsay bats .500 in All Star appearance

Gloucester High School baseball player Brett Lindsay, a rising senior, competed for the East squad in the 27th annual Virginia Commonwealth Games last week at Liberty University. 

Lindsay played well, fielding all of his chances in the field and going 4-8 at the plate. He scored two runs, contributed an RBI and had a stolen base.

In the bronze medal game, Lindsay scored from second base on a Mark Evans single for a 3-2 lead in the sixth. The East would stretch that lead to 4-2 on a sacrifice fly from Lindsay. The West, however, rallied in the bottom of the seventh to win, 5-4. 

“I enjoyed every minute of this great opportunity,” Lindsay said after the game. ...
