LINDA S. HOSEY

Linda S. Hosey, 76, of Gloucester, died Nov. 20, 2015 at the Hospice House of Williamsburg.

Linda had been secretary for the local chapter of the American Red Cross for a number of years. She was a member of Central Baptist Church and she loved her church family. Linda enjoyed quilting, sewing and crocheting. She was unbelievably compassionate. Her heart and her generosity knew no bounds and any chance to spend time with her family was important to her. She loved her family and will be missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Howard V. Hosey Jr., and she lost half her heart the day he died. She is also preceded in death by parents, Charles and Mary Semones; brother, Fred Semones; sister, Frankie Haley; granddaughter, Melisa Buvel; brothers-in-law, Butch Martin, Paul Lawson and Ronald Hosey; sister-in-law, Ruth Semones, and sons-in-law, James White, Joseph Estes and Everett Foster.

She is survived by children, Joel Hosey (Lynn), Leslee Thompson (Tommy), Lisa Estes, Lorie Butch (Timothy), and Lorraine Hosey (Andy); grandchildren, Terry (Travis), Haley (Michael), Helena, Christopher, Bryan and Dalton, and great-grandchildren, Nevaeh, Mason and Linden.

A graveside funeral service conducted by the Rev. John Charles was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2015, at Windsor Gardens Cemetery. Family and friends assembled at the cemetery.
