Linda Grow joins GJ ad staff

Linda Grow of Bena, has joined the staff of the Gazette-Journal as an advertising representative. She will primarily serve customers in the Hayes and Gloucester Point areas of Gloucester, but will be making forays into other areas, as well.

Grow said she looks forward to introducing herself to new businesses, as well as dropping in on businesses she knows, and letting them all know that she’s part of the Gazette-Journal team, ready to “give them a service they can benefit from.” Her first assignment is talking to customers about opportunities for Mother’s Day pages.

Grow comes to the Gazette-Journal after a nearly 30-year career in banking, where she worked her way up from teller to branch manager, learning every position along the way. After retiring, she took a year off to be a homemaker, but wanted more to do and spent another 11 years working in the gift shop at the American Revolution Museum of Yorktown.

longtime member of the Gloucester Rotary Club, Grow was twice presented with the Paul Harris Award for outstanding service to the community. She is an active member of the Guinea Heritage Association, where she sits on the board and volunteers at the Buck Rowe Store Museum, occasionally giving talks on Guinea, the watermen, and the Gloucester community.

Grow and her husband David have a small 1946 Aeronca Champ airplane that they enjoy flying, and from which they take aerial photos of the region. In her spare time, she loves working in the yard.
