Lillian Patricia Olson, age 82, of Gloucester, passed away on February 6, 2026. As a young military wife, many trips to the emergency room with three adventurous boys inspired her to attend nursing school. She later served her community as a Registered Nurse at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital. Patricia was an avid golfer, world traveler, and talented cook. A curious and creative lifelong learner, she filled her family’s homes with artful handmade quilts, pottery, stained glass, and other crafts. Her greatest legacy was the family she built with her husband, Doug—reflected in the love of her sons, daughters-in-law, and her six grandchildren, all of whom were by her side in her final days. Preceded in death by her husband, she is survived by her sons, Doug (Kathy), Don (Deborah), and David (Emily); grandchildren, Kyle, Kristen, Erik, Elly, William and Virginia, and seven great-grandchildren. A memorial service in her honor conducted by Pastor Andrew Double will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Severn Church, 9066 Robins Neck Road, Gloucester, Va. 23061. In memory of Patricia, contributions may be made to the Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society, P.O. Box 385, Gloucester, Va. 23061.
