LILLIAN M. LEONARD

Lillian M. Leonard, 69, passed away in her Cobbs Creek, Va., home on Sept. 27, 2012.

Lillian was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Helen and William Reinhold. She married her childhood boyfriend, Robert Leonard, May 6, 1961. They lived in Monroe, Conn., for 38 years where they owned and operated Leonard’s Ace Hardware. Lillian and Bob moved to Cobbs Creek in 1999 to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Her grandchildren were so loved by her and she loved to spoil them.

Lillian was a sweet, kind and caring wife, mother and grandmother, and will truly be missed. She loved to read, go to the beach with the kids and grandkids and was always a happy person. She had an infectious smile which we all loved.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Robert Leonard; four children, Barbara Leonard (Cobbs Creek), William Leonard and wife Toni (Richmond, Va.), Christine Miller (Richmond, Va.), and Thomas Leonard and wife Donna (Newcomers Town, Ohio); eight grandchildren; one brother, Raymond Reinhold and wife Kathy, and sister-in-law, Evelyn Reinhold; also, several nieces, and nephews.

The service to celebrate Lillian’s life will be held at Central United Methodist Church, 121 Church Street, Mathews, Va. 23109, Friday, Oct. 5 at 2 p.m.

Contributions can be made to your favorite Mathews charity in Lillian’s name.

Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews, Va., is in charge of the arrangements.
