Li’l Ole Opry show to pay tribute to great duets

Virginia’s Li’l Ole Opry will pay tribute to the best of country and rock’s great duets in a performance Saturday at the Harry M. Ward Auditorium at Mathews High School. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show begins at 7:30.

The Opry performers will pay tribute to the late Christine McVie and Naomi Judd as well, with several songs by Fleetwood Mac and the Judds.

The show will feature the house band, Shades of Country, which includes Richard Smith on drums, William Earl Sadler on keyboards, Sam Hogge Jr. on lead guitar, David Shuber on bass guitar, Mike McDevitt on rhythm/lead guitar and Michael Gregg on fiddle, as well as Opry singers Lynda Smith, Susan Ripley, Tracy Hill, Faith Kemp and Ralph Motley.

The evening will also include performances by special guests Larry and Lisa McCreight, who performed on the 2022 Talent Search, Jeff Long and Farren Winter, who is home from college for the summer.
