Li’l Ole Opry gospel show Saturday at MHS

Virginia’s Li’l Ole Opry will present a night of gospel music on Saturday, beginning at 8 o’clock. Doors open at Mathews High School’s Harry M. Ward Auditorium at 7:30.

The show will feature the house band, Shades of Country, and all of the Opry singers, as well as 2022 Talent Search winner, Faith Kemp, performing new Christian music as well as the traditional and Southern gospel standards everyone loves, a release stated.

From country standards like “Life’s Railway to Heaven” and “Three Wooden Crosses” to newer Christian hits by Cece Winans, Zach Williams and Lauren Daigle, the music on this show will be a variety that is synonymous with the Opry, according to the release.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the Mathews Visitor Center in Mathews and Marketplace Antiques on Route 17 in Hayes. Tickets will also be available at the door.

Li’l Ole Opry fans are asked to mark their calendars and get their tickets ...
