Library to hold Barbie Blast Aug. 19

Calling all Barbies, Kens and yes, even Allan, to walk the pink carpet at the Gloucester County Public Library, Main Street Center, Saturday, Aug. 19, from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

This library program is a free event for all ages to enjoy the world of Barbie through doll and book displays, pink decorations and a Barbie box that measures seven feet tall and four feet wide.

Adult Programs Coordinator Lisa Thomas, who is organizing this event, and library volunteer Chris Thomas are currently in the process of painting and building the box. People will be able to pose in the decorated box and have their photo taken. Gloucester Daffodil Queen Ella Hensley and Little Miss Kate Hunter will be available to help people step in and out of the box.

Chris will act as a paparazzo as people enter the event and take their photo before they walk the pink carpet. Lizzo’s “Pink” will be played on loop throughout the event. Guests are encouraged to dress up, as well as bring their favorite ...
