Liberty or death

Two hundred and thirty-five years after the actual battle, Revolutionary War reenactors came to Gwynn’s Island last weekend to commemorate the anniversary of the Battle of Cricket Hill. In top photos, British reenactor Norman Fuss, front, and other men of the Royal Army detachment take aim at colonial Warren Deal of the 7th Virginia Regiment. At right, Stephen Doyle, who portrayed a member of the Tory militia, speaks to visitors of the encampment, which was held on the grounds of the Gwynn’s Island Civic Center.
