As Drs. Moe and Mike Richards finish packing their boxes and move away from Mathews County, I invite the citizens of Mathews and surrounding counties to take some time to reflect on the many ways these folks have impacted us.

Many may not remember that both doctors served on the Mathews County School Board. Not only did they serve on the school board, but they did this while raising children and keeping their veterinarian practice, Mathews Veterinary Services, thriving. Thank you both for the years you dedicated your knowledge, time and experiences. You made a difference!

In addition, thank you both for taking care of our cats—Betty, Scooter and Bessie—and our pups—Barney, Brielle, M’Dori and Shep. You always kept us well informed and your thorough evaluations helped our pets to enjoy the good life in Mathews.
