Letter: Working tirelessly during the pandemic

Do you know what your Department of Social Services has done during the COVID-19 pandemic? Have you investigated the services provided by your Social Services Department?

The Department of Social Services, under the direction of Tiffany Gordon, has provided meals, gas cards, food stability and lodging to countless families in the Mathews community. The people who work in the Mathews Department of Social Services have worked tirelessly during the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure that citizens of Mathews County have food, electricity, transportation and other services for the community.

The Social Services workers have visited homes, using COVID-19 protocols, to provide assistance to the Mathews community. I cannot tell you how proud I am of the workers for their hard work and their selfless care for the members of Mathews County.
