Letter: Wonderful traditions of giving back

Editor, Gazette-Journal: I write this letter to thank Gwynn’s Island Civic League Foundation Members very much for generous contributions to benefit our Gwynn’s Island Museum. The work you do to raise money for worthwhile causes including the museum brings great credit to the Gwynn’s Island Civic League and Island residents. This year’s Christmas lights and decorations at the museum are beautiful. And the Gwynn’s Island Civic League Foundation’s program “Christmas Comes to Gwynn’s Island” with music, children’s craft activities, cider, cookies. Santa and tree ornaments brought many visitors and welcome sales and donations. Your volunteer leadership in these matters is outstanding. I want to mention today another outstanding earlier-day volunteer—Art Dubey. In 1990, Art was the newly elected president of the Gwynn’s Island Civic League.
