Editor, Gazette-Journal:

My comments are referring to last week’s letter from Mrs. Fletcher, a friend of mine (“Wittman initially opposed Burn Pit Act,” Aug. 18 Readers Write). I will have to agree to disagree with her opinion of Rob Wittman’s service to our district.

As an employee of Newport News Shipbuilding for 43+ years I know how much Rob cares about the military and its veterans. Just like Tom Downing, Paul Trible, Herb Bateman and Jo Ann Davis before him, he has always put our district first. He has been at the shipyard gates often giving his support.

I respect Rita’s opinion but I’m voting for Rob and hope he wins another term.
