Rob Wittman has been a consistent and determined advocate for the people of the 1st District. While his support for conservative values and sound governance are well known, many of the issues he deals with routinely fly “under the radar” and are unrecognized by his constituents. One example is his persistent efforts to bring universal, affordable broadband to the Middle Peninsula.

Broadband has become an absolute necessity for students during COVID-19, and for at-risk persons to receive their healthcare through telemedicine, avoiding potential COVID exposure at health care facilities. It is also a key enabler for local businesses to market their products and services outside the area, and thus bring outside money into our region. Congressman Wittman has brought action from the federal level to connect homes, businesses and community groups by working directly with local governments and the Governor’s Broadband Initiative Office.
