Letter: Wittman did not support small business bill

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

Dear fellow 1st District citizens. Does anyone know why Rob Wittman voted against the Small Business Lending Fund Act of 2010 (HR 5297)? This bill is to authorize Treasury lending to community banks designed to leverage $300 billion in loans to small businesses. It is a deficit-neutral bill. It also provides $12 billion in business tax breaks. I’m just wondering. It would seem to me that a bill to help small business would be just the thing our Republican congressman would support.
