Letter: Wishes for health, and justice

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

As many of our seniors, I too have been in a stay-at-home mode since March 12 (except for moving to a little house in Mathews Court House area). This newspaper, my friends and the Phillips, Ripley and Newsome families, old neighbors, plus Greg and Joyce Crawford have been my lifelines. My pups and kitty keep me sane and busy.

Along with all the happenings, medical problems have arisen so I’ve been unable to attend any of the much-needed protests, but know I stand long and fast with all of you.

Thank you, Mark Barrick, for your handling of the protests. I’ve heard from numerous people how helpful and efficient you and your team have been. Thank you, Melissa Mason, for speaking up, not an easy thing to do in your position. You are an inspiring and courageous voice much needed in Mathews County. I consider you and your mom good friends. I will be reading your suggested books.
