Letter: Winebarger for county supervisor

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

We have a chance to make some changes for the next four years. The question is, in what direction do you want this county to go—continue on its path of higher taxes every other year, with more county employees and less jobs in the area; or, do you want to stop wasteful spending and produce some job growth for some of the kids who get out of school and don’t go to college?

One of the problems is the supervisors are governed by the county department heads, and not the other way around. We need a person that is one of us, someone who will look out for the people. The two people who are running for Petsworth District supervisor are Mike Jenkins and Mike Winebarger.

Mr. Jenkins was on the school board and is best remembered for voting to hire our superintendent of schools, Mr. Kiser. Mr. Winebarger is on the planning commission and has been for 13 years. Many of the new regulations that take away from your rights as citizens, he voted against. Be...
