Letter: Why we chose solar

My husband and I built a new home five years ago. Our first priority was to be responsible both financially and environmentally. Our home has many energy saving features, but our best decision was to add solar panels and a solar inverter (to make the electricity usable). I was excited to see a proposal for a solar facility to be built locally. It has also come to my attention that some in the community have reservations about this proposal. In hopes of alleviating some of their concerns, I want to share why we chose solar.

Individuals, and households, are using more electricity than ever before.  Most homes have multiple televisions, many have more than one refrigerator, and everything that was once manual is now electric. Add to this that our population is continuing to grow. To keep up with the demand for electricity, power production will need to be increased.
