Letter: Who has the real plan?

For Jim Knupp (“Where is your plan?” Aug. 27 Readers Write) to state that Rob Wittman has no plan for health care means that he ignores Rob’s voting record. The disaster-stricken ACA was voted for repeal multiple times. The replacement for this monstrosity was the American Healthcare Act (ACHA), which passed the House in 2017.

Since the ACA became law, government-run health care has insufficiently addressed the challenges facing us. Physician-choice disappeared and premium costs skyrocketed. How this actually helped the system is still a mystery to me.

Government run health care fails to address the challenges of choice, cost and quality. Currently, Wittman is a co-sponsor of HR 19, the Lower Costs, More Cures Act. This common-sense legislation will help lower the cost of health care services and medication.

Individuals and families should have the ability to make decisions for themselves based on their needs, wants and budget, not what is dictated...
