Letter: Where is our vision?

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

The recent value engineering of the proposed combined transportation facility reduced the size and apparent purpose of the original proposal, or so it seems. Unfortunately, although the item was on the agenda of the joint meeting, and could have been addressed during the public comment period, the public was not made aware of the changes to the proposal until it was presented after the time for comment.

Thank you, Mrs. Hook and Mr. Burak, for trying to keep the property for the purpose of education facilities just that and/or at the very least, trying to show the spirit of cooperation by making a trade-off for the relocation of the ballfield during the process of giving up real property.

Unfortunately, also, the value-engineered facility had the space cut; i.e., the facility does not allow for growth, making it too small. Just as the newest school facility, Page Middle School, was value engineered from an 850-student plan, it is too small. Petsworth Elementa...
