Editor, Gazette-Journal: What’s our future if Congressperson Wittman and his party take the majority in Congress? Wittman recently voted against H.R. 6833: Continuing Appropriations and Ukraine Supplement Act. Without aid, would Ukraine continue? Would Russia stop there? Would world fuel prices, food availability decrease and prices increase further? According to 538.com, Wittman votes 90.9 percent of the time with the GOP even when it not in his constituents’ best interest, so he would be expected to vote the party line.So, what is that? Rick Scott’s, Chair of National Republican Senatorial Committee Manifesto includes these items: “11. The federal budget would be balanced …” Looking back, the 2017 GOP Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, according to Forbes, reduced taxes on corporations the wealthy, did not help the economy, did not increase jobs, but did cut government revenue, increasing the deficit.
