Letter: What is Gloucester’s plan?

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

After the completion of COVID-19 vaccinations to those in Phase 1A, I believe the present state plan is to begin vaccinating those in Phase 1B, which includes those aged over 75. According to Datausa.io, in 2018 Gloucester County had a population of 37,161 people, with 2,830 of these being over 75.

I have read nothing about how these 2,830 residents are going to be notified that a lifesaving vaccine is available to be administered. For those in Phase 1A, it seems fairly straightforward: they are employed by hospitals or staying in assisted care facilities.

But most of those over 75 are living at home. What is Gloucester County’s plan to notify them they are now authorized to be vaccinated and, for those that choose to do so, where do they go and what is their schedule?

This plan should take into account that not all residents have a Primary Care Provider, the internet or newspapers to inform them of the procedures for obtaining the vaccine. I reque...
