Letter: What I am thankful for

As I reflect back on the past year and a half, I really realize I have more to be thankful for than most people. First and foremost, I’m thankful to be alive. I’m thankful for my loving wife, family, friends and of course God. You see I contracted Covid-19 the last week in March 2020 and I gave it to my wife as well. We were both in ICU at the same time, but she was able to come home within a couple of days and recovered at home. I spent the month of April 2020 in the hospital ICU. It was a very severe case. Covid patients back then were relatively new to the ICU staffs and how they treated them. Due to the great staff of doctors, nurses, respiratory, and rehabilitation teams at Walter Reed Hospital, and a whole lot of people praying for me and my wife, we survived.

Covid-19 took a toll on my body. I have been in some form of rehabilitation for the past year and a half. I have had to re-learn how to do many things over again and learn to try to do things...
