Letter: What am I missing?

I continue to be amazed at what I have been witnessing here in the Land of the Free and Home of the Brave. We are experiencing out-of-control violence in many of our cities, killing of police officers and citizens, property destruction, all under the premise of a belief of systemic racism that has its origin in a controversy with law enforcement that unfortunately, usually takes the form of resisting arrest.

Suddenly, not only is the rule of law under attack, but the very structure of our society and culture is suddenly under siege for its history, a history that I might add, in spite of its shortcomings, has been the greatest experiment for the betterment of the common man that the world has yet to equal.
