Editor, Gazette-Journal: Every day we are reminded of the effect of Donald Trump’s war in Iran when we see the price of gas reaching $4 per gallon. But there are other, unseen costs of which we should be aware. For example, for a bit more than two weeks of this war we could offer free college education to every American family. Or, for about three weeks we could have a nationwide pre-K program. For less than half a day we could screen every woman for cervical cancer. For four hours we could provide needed glasses to 2.3 million school children. For three weeks we could restore the health insurance subsidy. One day would treat for malaria saving 350,000 lives. President Trump’s weekend golf trips to Mar-a-Lago costs us about $3,000,000. And there’s so much more. What a waste! Ted BrodersonMathews, Va....
