Letter: What a great day it was!

The 45th annual Mathews Market Days was held this past Saturday, Sept. 7, after the threat of Hurricane Dorian had passed. The Mathews Market Days Committee was able to pack the event into a single day, but what a great day it was!

The Kids Corner was filled with bounce houses, face-painters, temporary tattoo artists, sno-cones and lots of other games and booths for kids of all ages. The success of this event is shared by many, and I would like to start by thanking our sponsors—Atlantic Broadband, the Mathews Rotary Club, Chesapeake Bank and the Mathews County Historical Society.

Thanks to their generous donations, we were able to provide a fun and safe space for kids during the festival.
