Letter: What a fun May Faire

What a fun May Faire this past Saturday! The friends and residents of Mathews continue to amaze us! They are the best part of Mathews County. Because of them, the second annual May Faire held on May 5 on the historic court green was a success! It is heartwarming to see how this community comes together to support a local event. Attendance was estimated at 3,000.

Last year, you said you wanted more activities for children and we listened. You said you wanted more food vendor choices and we listened. You said you wanted more musical entertainment and we listened!

With the addition of a stage, the following local groups were able to offer fabulous entertainment: The Flattones, an 8-person band; Drew Ballantyne Band with Clayton Ware, Jacob DeForge and Logan Parsons; Buddy Waymack; Caleb Burford and Ashley Cummings; the Ebenezer Men’s Chorus; the Court House Players teens; Mike and Carolyn August; Walt and Susan Stillman, and the Bayside Youth Ballet.
