Letter: We support Ralph

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

On June 13, there is a primary election to decide the Democratic nominee for Governor of Virginia. We support Dr. Ralph Northam in his bid to be Governor.

We support Ralph because he is very familiar with the Hampton Roads and Tidewater area. He was born and raised in Onancock and worked on the water as a teenager. He graduated from VMI and was president of its Honor Court. He earned his medical degree at Eastern Virginia Medical School. He served in the Army eight years with the rank of Major. Many of his patients were servicemen wounded in Desert Storm.

Ralph is a pediatric neurologist at Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters and is volunteer Medical Director for the Edmarc Hospice for Children in Portsmouth. In addition, he serves as Assistant Professor of Neurology at Eastern Virginia Medical School.
