Letter: We should do better for the animals

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

I’m responding to Jonathan Ober’s letter (“What’s going on at the GMHS?” March 5 Readers Write) to this paper regarding the hostile atmosphere at the Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society. I thought their mission was to find forever homes for the animals.

If homes can be found over the internet (Facebook), so be it. A little common sense would be helpful. We can and should do better for these helpless animals.

When volunteers quit, that hurts the animals and that is not fair. A joyful place to work, volunteer, visit and live should be the goal of this nonprofit.
