Letter: We are the People

Last week, a bell rang and awakened several Tea Party contributors to this newspaper. They were well written and expressed their views truly. However, “them” and “us” in our present political climate are missing an elephant in both our houses.

If we examine the current job ratings in our branches of federal government, we find approval ratings all below 50 percent—the Congress currently at 24 percent with 67 percent disapproval; the Supreme Court 42 percent in September 2016, with a disapproval rating of 48 percent, and the presidency at 40 percent with a disapproval rating of 53 percent. Are they aware of this? Why not?
