Letter: We are resolved

This is an open letter to Rep. Rob Wittman. We are reminded of all the good you have done for Mathews County and the surrounding areas, and we thank you for that. We would like you to know that there was a meeting in Mathews on Sunday with approximately 110 people attending. Among us were Democrats, Republicans and independents, and I suspect some non-voters.

Some of us were very disturbed by several of your recent votes. You voted down an Obama gun law that flagged a background check if the person trying to buy the gun was receiving disability benefits because of mental capabilities. Another great concern of mine and others are your environmental policies. Living in this area, these policies should be of concern to all of us, including you.
