Letter: We are in a pickle

Editor, Gazette-Journal:
I should have been more specific about the inspiration for my letter (“Neither deplorables nor human scum,” Nov. 21 Readers Write). I was writing in reference to a letter by Christine Georges (“Irreparable harm,” Nov. 14 Readers Write).
In reference to Ruth Litschewski’s letter (“Assume nothing; Everything has changed,” Nov. 28 Readers Write)—yes, I’m aware that “deplorable” was a term 
Hillary Clinton used to describe Trump supporters. I didn’t like it when she first said it and I don’t like it now. A lot of awful stuff was said on both sides during that campaign.
The last time I voted for a Republican president was George H.W. Bush. I believed he was a good man; a man of honor and integrity. I do not believe President Trump has either of those qualities. I don’t trust him to put the country before his own personal interests. So I worry about the safety and security of our...
