Letter: We are all brethren

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

Dr. James Dudley, your op-ed did not go unnoticed (“Legislators need to reconsider Medicaid expansion,” April 3 Readers Write). Well stated from a man who knows first-hand the “true state” of the human condition!

Unfortunately, we live in a fallen world where the needy and disenfranchised are perceived as “moochers” and “lazy,” deserving of their circumstance. Those with the most seem to scream the loudest opposing the least among us. Dr. Dudley is to be commended for taking an unpopular stance and reminding the public that we are all brethren united by the precepts established by Our Lord Jesus Christ. 

Psalm 41:1 Blessed is he who considers the poor; The Lord will deliver him in time of trouble.

Psalm 118:6 The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me? 

May the Lord’s divine strength and power be with you as ambassador of His grace and mercy!
