Letter: Waste, fraud and abuse

Editor, Gazette-Journal: Trump campaigned on eliminating “waste, fraud and abuse” in government—but that was a lie. His administration has targeted immigrants with public assistance fraud accusations, while granting clemency to convicted—I repeat—convicted Medicare scammers who stole over $1.3 billion. He tolerated millions in wasteful spending by Noem and Lewandowski, on private jet travel and unvetted no-bid contracts. His Justice Department has repeatedly stumbled in court on immigration cases and dubious investigations. Meanwhile, he has prioritized self-promotion, slapping his name and image on government buildings. To top it all off, Trump’s undeclared war with Iran is draining billions in taxpayer dollars daily with no end in sight. So much for ending waste, fraud and abuse. Thom ByrneGloucester Point, Va....
