Letter: Warren has education, experience for the job

On June 12, the citizens of Gloucester County will have the opportunity to select the Republican nominee for sheriff. I am writing to endorse Sheriff Darrell Warren for this nomination. I have known Darrell for 18 years. During this time, he has been a personal friend, colleague and my supervisor. I worked closely with Darrell for 17 years. The position of sheriff involves much more than being a good "street cop." The sheriff’s office budget is $7 million. The office employs 95 people. The sheriff manages the operation of a correctional facility. The sheriff is responsible for the safety and security of all the citizens of the county and its visitors.
