Letter: War supplies

Editor, Gazette-Journal: Some people complain that President Trump and Secretary of War Hegseth were not prepared for the war with Iran, but I say the facts say otherwise. As far back as September of 2025 the Department of Defense started laying in supplies. Here is a list of purchases for that month: $6,900,000 for lobster tails. $2,000,000 for Alaskan King Crab. $15,100,000 for ribeye steak. $1,000,000 for salmon. $139,000 for doughnuts. $124,000 for ice cream machines. $98,000 for a Steinway piano for the Air Force chief of staff’s home. $60,000 for Herman Miller recliners. $3,500,000 for cable television services.
