Editor, Gazette-Journal:
We the American people (and I do not consider the super-rich as Americans as their loyalty is only to the dollar) pay our taxes to the U.S. government to fund Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security and the Affordable Care Act insurance. Yet those super-rich who do not pay their fair share of taxes bitterly resent these programs and are doing all they can to destroy or defund them.
The 53 U.S. Senate Republicans are currently working to pass Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” that will take billions from Medicare to give to the super-rich and raise our national debt by $3 trillion plus over 10 years. This is greed gone rampant.
How far and how long will it take for us the American people to be pushed into poverty before we wake up and unitedly push back and reclaim our government and country?
Remember the quote of Japanese Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto after the Pearl Harbor attack, “I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve.” ...
