Letter: Vote Yes

Editor, Gazette-Journal: Whether you voted Red or Blue in 2024, it’s safe to say we all wanted the same things: lower prices, safer cities, and stronger communities. We were promised all of the above, but sadly, those promises weren’t kept. Put simply, Trump and his reneged promises haven’t been good to the average Virginian. Amid inflation the state lost over 23,000 Federal jobs, cuts to Medicaid are barring the poor from healthcare, and massive tax allocations have set thousands of ill-trained, quota-driven ICE agents into our streets, schools, houses of worship and even private homes. This isn’t what We the People voted for. Our wise Founding Fathers rebelled against a king for a reason. In their wisdom and understanding they set up our system to ensure a balance of power because they know unchecked power corrupts absolutely. It is simply human nature.
