Letter: Vote with boldness

Editor, Gazette-Journal: After too many years of bending to the Trump-distorted Republican Party, Congressman Rob Wittman is worn down and worn out. It is time for him to pack up and go back home to Montross. His silence in the face of attacks on the Constitution and attacks on the balance of powers, his silence in the face of Trump’s degradation of the office of the President, his silence in the face of our economic pains, and his silence as we lose the respect of our allies shows a weakness that I cannot ignore. With the approach of America’s 250th birthday, I want to find cause to celebrate our precious nation, not cause to feel shame. It is time for Democrats to step up to the task of choosing, beginning with the primary process, a candidate who is bold and energetic.
