Editor, Gazette-Journal: I am writing in reference to the upcoming Special Election Voter Suppression put on the ballot by the Virginia legislators. I have never witnessed such an oppressive silencing of Virginians done by the state Delegates and Senators. The ballot reads as follows: “Should the Constitution of Virginia be amended to allow the General Assembly to temporarily adopt new congressional districts to restore fairness in the upcoming elections, while ensuring Virginia’s standard redistricting process resumes for all future redistricting after the 2030 census?” I implore the state legislature to let the people know what has been going on in the Virginia elections that is so unfair. Why would you ever change back to the redistricting process we use now if it is so unfair? In the name of fairness, how could the Democrats control the House of Delegates, State Senators, Attorney General, Lt. Governor and Governor?
