Editor, Gazette-Journal:

I am honored to serve as the chair of the S.A.L.T. Council (Seniors and Law Enforcement Together). Last week, we hosted the Gloucester County Senior Safety Fair. This was a fun-filled day with speakers and exhibitors who were geared toward topics of concern to our near or in retirement aged population. It was a resounding success! We have received wonderful feedback from the attendees already. Many participants shared that they made good connections for services that they were in need of and learned so much from both speakers and exhibitors alike.

The Council is made up of citizens and stakeholders from the community who have committed to work together to enhance the quality of life for our older citizens. Our purpose is to heighten awareness and focus our efforts in mobilizing community resources to ascertain the needs and concerns of older citizens and to provide the tools for meeting those needs.
