Letter: Two local Good Samaritans

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

On June 3, while performing a cleanup at the Severn River end of Kings Creek Lane, the Gloucester Clean Community Committee was approached by two men in their truck who were appalled by the amount of litter that we had collected (the final total was 19 bags of litter and three tires).

When they saw us struggling with a 10’x12’ piece of boating carpet that was half buried in the sand, they retrieved a shovel from their truck bed and joined us in working it free.

We didn’t learn their names, but the committee wants to thank them and all the other citizens of Gloucester who unselfishly work to keep Gloucester a place where we can take pride in saying this is our home.
