Letter: Two gripes

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

I’ve got two gripes. First gripe is about the roadside trash that the Gazette-Journal has been discussing recently. I find that it is mostly local folks who do the tossing, particularly in my area. I live where no one can just pass through. You get to the end of the road and have to turn around and go back the way you came. This winter, when we had several inches of snow on the ground, the road was littered with fast-food debris and drink cans. Schools were closed, the roads slick and icy and for certain this mess was not caused by someone just driving around looking at the scenery.

My second gripe is about cars with handicapped tags or license plates whose drivers are clearly not the people who are handicapped. We have all seen them pull into a handicapped space, jump out of the car and run into the store.
