Letter: Truth, trust wanted

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

A recent article I read, said, “Now is the time we must overlook a poor choice of words.” These are the words to “overlook”: When Trump spoke about the Vietnam War, he said, “It was a stupid war. Anyone who went was a sucker.” When he visited in 2018 for the centennial anniversary of the end of World War I, Trump also reportedly called Marines who died at Belleau Wood “suckers” and fallen soldiers at Aisne-Marne American Cemetery “losers.”

Trump said of General Milley’s phone call (to reassure the Chinese during January 6): “This is an act so egregious that, in times gone by, the punishment would have been death!” (Milley’s call was, in fact, authorized by Trump-administration officials.)

Yep … heartless words.

If you honor our service people, then how could you vote for a person to be Commander in Chief when he has and now derogates our service members both living and dead? Could he lead fairly?
