Editor, Gazette-Journal: The president has told folks to vote as if he is on the ticket. Ok then, a vote for Republican Rob Wittman must certainly be a vote for Trump. A vote for Wittman is a vote in support of Trump and his costly, undeclared war with Iran. It’s a vote in support of brutal cuts to vital social safety net programs such as SNAP and Medicaid that helped lift millions of working families out of poverty. It’s a vote that supports acquiescing to Putin the humanitarian whose missiles rain down daily on civilian targets in Ukraine. Wittman never protests or criticizes. Apparently, this administration’s unchecked corruption and blind eye to insider trading, influence peddling, and backroom deals are not a concern for him.
