Letter: Tribute to Ellis Hall

Upon reading the obituary for Ellis Hall, I was hit with grief for an outstanding pillar of our community. I thought about an article in the Gazette-Journal printed several years ago which I would like to share the end of it with all who knew him.

“God has been good to me,” said Hall. “He has blessed me beyond measure and I owe it all to him, and that’s the reason I do the things I do.”Occasionally someone will ask Hall if he plans to sell his home and move, and he tells them, “No, I’ve got a mansion being built for me.” If the person doesn’t understand, he follows with the words of Jesus: “I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself, that where I am, there ye may be also.”
