Letter: Too ‘big city’? I don’t think so

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

I wish to reference last week’s letter to the editor regarding the very clever and whimsical sculptures on display along Main Street which the writer seemed to implicate were too avant-garde for our local population.

I am certain that the residents of Gloucester County are sophisticated enough to admire and appreciate the artistry represented in these delightful vignettes of human interactions rendered by the very talented sculptor, Jay Lagemann, who accompanied his creations to town for the Arts Festival.

As a small town, we are so fortunate to have wonderful organizations such as the Cook Foundation, the Main Street Association, and Arts on Main arrange and support events such as the Gloucester Arts Festival which attract renowned artists and musicians to the area for the enjoyment of all and for the promotion of Gloucester County in general.

So, if you haven’t inspected the sculptures in question, take a stroll down Main. It’s very possible that...
